Recycling projects 2008-2009

Sophie, Beatrice and Charlie attended the Cheshire Recycling Officers launch in September 2008 at Macclesfield Town Football Ground.

Since then a number of projects have been started. Nether Alderley now has...

- paper recycling: collection boxes in each classroom and a collection container in the car park
- cardboard recycling facilities
- composting containers
- fruit peel collection containers

The recycling officers have regular slots in our school assemblies at which they disseminate important messages and set competitions for pupils.

The school had an environmental audit in December 2008. The new Eco-schools committee will be working closely with our Recycling officers in the months ahead.

In January 2009, the school enjoyed a special Composting assembly at which they learned many of the dos and don'ts of composting.
